Dictionary Day

Mr. Dwight Bischel from the Galena Rotary Club visited our classroom today and presented each third grader with their very own pocket dictionary! The third graders were thrilled, and eagerly started looking up words as part of a word game. The final challenge... Can you find a word with 6 letters, starts with r, and has no vowels?

Move to Learn!

One of the fun ways that we take "brain breaks" in our classroom is to use the "Move to Learn" videos recommended to us by Mrs. Haas.  They only last 5 minutes, but they really help get everyone moving and wide awake, ready to learn!  One of our favorites is "Hey, Sleepyhead".  Here's the link if you'd like to try it at home:

3S Recommends...

This week we are showcasing....Dawson!  Here's Dawson's book recommendation for this week...

"You just HAVE to read Frog and Toad Together!  I loved this book because Toad made a list of things to do.  Toad went to Frog's house to take a walk, and at the end of the walk, they went to Frog's garden.  Frog gave Toad some seeds to plant. Toad stayed all night, looking after the seeds.  Toad's seeds did not grow, and Toad thought they were afraid to grow.  Finally, they all grew!
