Learning about Haiti - Helping Haiti

Today Mr. Bill Timm from the Carroll County Haiti Mission Project spoke with the third, fourth, and fifth graders about the incredible work they are doing in Haiti. In third grade we have traded in our annual gift exchange for the past two years in order to donate to Mr. Timm's group. This has been an amazingly beneficial project for our third graders, as they begin to see that they can truly make a difference in the world and help others who are in desperate need. This all started in 2010 after the earthquake in Haiti, when Mrs Reese and I and our classes wanted to help. So we held a bakesake to benefit CCHMP. Ever since, we've had Mr. Timm come talk each year, and each year, the third graders enthusiastically want to help again!! This year we are collecting Tylenol, Ibuprophen, and Tums (adult and children's, including generic) to send to the CCHMP medical clinic in Juampas Haiti. In order to learn more about CCHMP, visit http://cchmp.tripod.com/. Our donations will be taken directly to the clinic in Feburary, when members of CCHMP visit and work in Haiti once again. Thanks so very much for your generosity!!!
