The third graders are already busy reading, testing, and working towards their Accelerated Reader goals! AR has been an extremely successful program at River Ridge, helping students across grade levels to improve their reading comprehension skills. We encourage third graders to read
chapter books at their own level, and to try to read for a minimum of 20 minutes each night. You can help at home by asking your child questions about their books, and asking them to retell their favorite part. Students should also strive to earn 85% or higher on each AR test that they take. Each week in the Friday newsletter, we will record your child's progress toward their point goal, and also their average percent correct on AR tests.
